Veteran Bay Area classical guitarist, Eric Hamilton, is accepting intermediate guitar students who are dedicated to developing proper and effective classical guitar technique. He has been instructing students of the classical guitar since 1976. After 40 years of fine-tuning methods for articulating information clearly and quickly, training is individualized, performance oriented, and geared toward Conservatory entry-level. Many times one lesson will yield enough information to keep a student busy for several weeks to a month. Never any obligation for future appointments, no weekly schedules unless requested, no package rates or fancy deals of the month, just straightforward, high level instruction.

Tutoring is private, in your home, and by appointment only. All teaching materials supplied. Follow-up online consultation and clarification of information between appointments is part of the process and does not incur additional charges. This is all about the music and the musician and attaining the highest potential possible. Works well with adolescents. Many references available upon request. Flexible rates, some scholarships available.

Eric Hamilton is a former master-class student of Christopher Parkening (Andres Segovia prodigy), Roland Dyens, professor of the Paris Conservatory of Music, collaborator with composer Mason Williams (Classical Gas), and has recently collaborated with the Beijing Guitar Duo in a series of master-classes for his guitar majors. He is currently in his tenth year teaching guitar courses to the students of COVAH college-high school (a K-12 charter performing arts school) at Merritt College. He has 14 full-length CDs commercially available, and performs regularly throughout the San Francisco Bay area.
